There are no museum for dj sets. The best I can do is sharing a few of my favorites.
To me a set should make you travel. It transports you to an unexpected place. You can feel and connect to a new energy. It makes you groove and live in the present.
More practically, I think my favorite sets are from excellent producers who can bring their work into a coherent, vivid set. That’s what the Daft Punk were doing, and now there are plenty of artists worth listening and dancing too.
Sainte Vie - Fusion Festival 2022
Sainte Vie is a Mexican producer and DJ who plays some kind of high energetic, non commercial melodic house tracks. He sets journeys through his world and there is no other choice than going along with it and enjoying the rid.
His set at Burning Man 2019 is absolutely amazing with splendid footages, in which you can see the unique energy of the Mexican DJ moving to his ryhtms and melodies. But to me his music hits even more in the set he played at Fusion 2022, with a stronger, uncompromising opening track.
Satori - Live from The Gardens Of Babylon at ThuisHaven (Amsterdam)
Truly a unique artist who will take you onto a kind of musical rodeo. His unique sound and sets makes you travel around the world and around your mind, all the while bringing you sincere joy and grooves that will make you dance relentlessly. His music blends eastern sounds, organic instruments, and classical music into an overall underground yet organic German house vibe. In the booth, he incarnates such a high energy and a deep love for music, playing live instruments and mixing songs, making each live session unique.
